You’ve heard of the Oscars…

…here are the Colins! The only awards where I am in complete control. I pick the contestants, I judge them, and I award the prizes. All of these awards are playful, and none of these awards are intended to be negative. Do not be sad if you don’t win a prize; be happy for the people that have. These awards are inspired by the Oscars, the MTV music awards, and all the other awards that I’ve seen on the telly.
Most Frequent Blogger
This was a close one, but I’m going to have to go with Amanda. She’s blogged almost every single day for the last century, and each blog is as engrossing as the next. She discusses everything from shopping expeditions to meeting other bloggers to going to sex exhibitions.
Biggest Footer
This award easily goes to Becky. As many people know, having big feet implied that you have big *whispers* testicles. And let’s be honest here, Becky has bigger balls than I do. I’m not sure if her footer was designed to reflect that, or if she merely didn’t want to have a sidebar. Either way, her footer is the biggest I’ve seen all year.
Best Newcomer
With thousands of blogs being started everyday, how do you pick a best newcomer? Do you judge by the amount of traffic? What if the blogger is then a “one hit wonder”? Do you judge by the amount of comments? Or do you ignore all that and give the award to Kaylee? This high-schooler is smart, funny, interesting, and has stacks of potential. She works hard on her blog and this is reflected by the number of comments she receives on each entry. Keep up the good work, Kaylee!
Best Blogger Friend
I like to think of myself as a nice person (hopefully you’ll agree with me on that). I have quite a few online friends, and some of them are closer than others. I was originally going to give this award to Lilian, but then I met her and she no longer stayed a “blogger” friend. Instead, this award is going to the very lovely Aisling. She’s always there for me when I need her, and I’m always there for her when she needs me. We’ve been through much together and have talked for literally hours on msn. Her blog’s not half bad either.
Best International Artist
God I wish I could draw like Jacky. And to think this fellow 20-year-old is only a student?! I’m scared to think how good she’ll be once she’s graduated University! Damn, Jacky, words cannot describe how jealous I am of your drawing talents. I can barely even draw a stick man properly.
Best International Female
I live in England, so “International” to me is “everything further away than France”. Because of that, this award goes to Catherine. She’s 20, she’s from New Zealand, and when I first got in contact with her through her blog and what have you, I kept accidentally calling her “Melissa”. I suppose maybe this award should go to someone “famous” on the Internet, but what the hell - these are my awards and I’m the judge.
Best International Male
Oh if only Ben and Matt weren’t British. Lucked out, guys. Be jealous of Sean. He’s young, he’s cute, he’s Canadian, and he may or may not be stabbed during the race fights going on in around his school at present time. I’m really worried for him. Sean, stay safe so you can keep on blogging.
The Banana Award
I’m all for Bananas on websites, and there just aren’t enough out there. That’s why I’ve created this special award. You don’t need to be famous, or popular, or anything like that. You just need to have banana-ish tendencies. This year’s Banana Award goes to Spencer of monkeyslunch.com. Despite how it reads, his domain is not pronounced “Monkey Slunch”. It’s actually “Monkey’s Lunch”, and as you all know… what do monkeys eat for lunch? Bananas!
So there we have it. The first year of the Colins. You can choose which Colin you’d like, whether it be Colin Firth, Colin Farrell, or even Colin Powell if you really want him.
Thank you, and good night!
