MCR is not an excuse for suicide
This entry was posted on May 8, 2008
Earlier today I received an email from my best friend linking me to an article from the Daily Mail, a popular British tabloid newspaper. The title of the article was a typical tabloid article - exaggerated to make a point and attract attention.
“Girl, 13, hangs herself after becoming obsessed with Emo ’suicide cult’ rock band.”
A 13-year-old girl hung herself? That’s horrible! I’m definitely going to read about that. Like most of the general public, I love reading about death and destruction in the newspapers. But, wait, she was obsessed an emo rock band? That’s even better! Wait, there’s more? This band has a suicide cult? That seems kind of dangerous. 13-year-olds shouldn’t be involved in suicide cults.

Songs that could save a life…
This entry was posted on May 1, 2008
… or at least help people realise that life doesn’t always have to be as bad as it might seem right now. Music can be a great thing at times. Below are some of the best songs I know to comfort people. They’re all slightly different in their own way, but they do have one unique message.
Don’t give up.
“Move Along” by the All American Rejects
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do.
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through.
Hold on if you feel like letting go.
Hold on, it gets better than you know.
Don’t stop looking, you’re one step closer.
Don’t stop searching, it’s not over.
“Famous Last Words” by My Chemical Romance
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
“The Voice Within” by Christina Aguilera
When there’s no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within.
Then you’ll find the strength, that will guide your way.
You’ll learn to begin to trust the voice within

Bucketman returns!
This entry was posted on April 3, 2008
After my April Fool’s joke confused the hell out of everyone, it’s now a return to normal Calm Banana madness in the form of Bucketman!
Bucketman first visited in January, where he scared the hell out of me. He returned yesterday, and this time I was ready for him! He parked up in the car park, climbed out of his car, grabbed his bucket, and walked into the office where I recognised him instantly. I’d recognise that bucket anywhere.
“Hi, I’m here to-”
“-service our water cooler! Yes, I know.”
I think I freaked him out a little bit. However, all was well (even though our water cooler has moved since January) and our water cooler is now running smoothly and cleanly once more.
