Smacked in the face by a Rockstar
This entry was posted on June 1, 2008
This past weekend was spent in the far north of England, more commonly known as Birmingham. On Friday I spent the afternoon in Telford (after being told by my Dentist that I need to brush my teeth more). I met up with two e-friends, Jem and Sarah.
Telford is a very odd town. There are way more chavs than I’m used to (which is really saying something!), but on the plus side, there was a park! I went on a slide and got sand in my shoes. That was awesome. At first I was worried because the sign said “Over 8s only”. But when I realised there wasn’t a stated upper age limit (I’m 20), I dived right in there.
Of course, the slide was built for pre-teens, because I banged my head at least once. I also got stuck on one of the slides a few times, what with my hips being wider than those of a 9-year-old. Still though, I had fun. I even went on some bumper cars!
Saturday “day” was spent wandering the streets of Birmingham, and Saturday night was spent at the Academy 2 watching Cute Is What We Aim For. They were doing a “co-headline” tour with Boys Like Girls, but I was only there to see CIWWAF.
Shaant (lead singer) promised to meet everyone who wanted to meet him, and he held his promise. He came out after the show, hugged everyone, signed stuff, took pictures… and (accidentally) smacked me in the face. He did apologise though, and he squeezed my shoulder and asked me if I was okay.
Fun times!

Wow, sounds like fun! I remember me and my friends got chucked out of a park because it was only for children up to the age of 12. I was quite gutted!
Cute Is what We Aim For!? Oh, you lucky thing. I love them
Damn you being squeezed on the shoulder by him *jealous*.
Glad you had fun ![]()
I want to meet Jem too *sighs*
Hah! I know you, it was totally you who put your face in front of his fist, so that he’d hugs you again *nodnodnod*
Glad you had fun ![]()
Birmingham… far north???
Just your sense of humor I guess! Or maybe you live south of the equator?
Despite living in the real “far North of England I think I have actually been to that park in Telford you are talking about - its ace! ![]()
LOl that playground sounds like awesome fun, and yes, if there is no sign that says you are not allowed to play, what’s stopping you. Ouch at banging your head though, darn being taller than the average child!
