Talking to the BT broadband people
This entry was posted on June 28, 2008
Our contact with our ISP is up for renewal soon and I headed over to the BT broadband site to look at what options were available to us. One of those “scrolly” type adverts popped up saying I could have an IM conversation with a BT rep. I thought this would be easier than reading through all the waffle, so away I clicked!
Chat Information
We are now routing you to one of our chat team…
Chat Information: You are now connected with Jonathan
Rachael: Hi Jonathan.
Jonathan : Hi, my name is Jonathan. I’m here to assist you with your BT Total Broadband order.
Jonathan : Can I please have your BT Telephone number to check Broadband availability?
Rachael: ***** ******
Rachael: We actually already have broadband…
Rachael: I’m not sure what option we’re on at the minute, but I know that the contract runs out soon, and when we re-new, we’d be looking at having a wireless router.
Jonathan : So you have B Tbroadbnd.
Rachael: Yep.
Jonathan : We currently only deal with new orders, but please click here for information on Upgrades.
Rachael: Ah, okay, well… sorry to bother you then. I just clicked this advert when it flashed up on my screen.
Rachael: Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ![]()
Jonathan : Yo utoo.
Jonathan : Goodbye
BT people, you should state that the IM conversations are for new customers only. I feel bad for wasting Jonathan’s time. Jonathan, wherever you are, I’m glad someone else shares my problem of accidentally putting spaces inside words rather than between them.

Someone has been messing with my iTunes
This entry was posted on June 22, 2008
My trusty iPod Nano let me down the other day. I was doing something with it that Apple probably wouldn’t like me doing, and my iPod threw a strop. I ended up having to hit the “restore” button which unfortunately wiped every single thing that was on the iPod.
I used the opportunity to go through the mess that is my iTunes library, and sort everything out. Each track now has an album to live in, and every single track now has album artwork. This will make the Coverflow feature far more interesting!
Whilst going through the 2000+ songs in my library, I found some songs that I’m sure I didn’t put there. I always like to think that I have a fairly “good” taste in music. If that’s the case, there’s no way I would have the following tracks in my library by choice:
- “Switch” by Will Smith
- “I Said Never Again (but here we are)” by Rachel Stevens
- “Biology” by Girls Aloud
- “Final Countdown” by Europe
- “I Believe I Can Fly” by R. Kelly
- “Ooh Stick You” by Daphne & Celeste
- That song which goes “This is why I’m hot”
- “Be The First To Believe” by A1
- “Don’t Stop Movin’” by S Club 7
There are Gremlins in my iTunes, I tell you. Gremlins! They are everywhere. Have a look through your own music library. What have the Gremlins put there?

Music in French
This entry was posted on June 15, 2008
I’m a huge fan of music, that’s no secret. I love music from various different countries, and at the moment I’m going through a “French” phase where I’m listening to music with lyrics in French. (Note - when I say French, I also mean Québecois.)
- Les Breastfeeders - Tout va pour le mieux dans le pire des mondes
- Superbus - Radio Song
- Les Cowboys Fringants - Plus Rien
- Feist - L’amour ne dure pas tourjours
These four songs are the ones I’m currently loving. What French songs do you like?
