Songs that could save a life…
This entry was posted on May 1, 2008
… or at least help people realise that life doesn’t always have to be as bad as it might seem right now. Music can be a great thing at times. Below are some of the best songs I know to comfort people. They’re all slightly different in their own way, but they do have one unique message.
Don’t give up.
“Move Along” by the All American Rejects
Speak to me, when all you got to keep is strong
Move along, move along like I know you do.
And even when your hope is gone
Move along, move along just to make it through.
Hold on if you feel like letting go.
Hold on, it gets better than you know.
Don’t stop looking, you’re one step closer.
Don’t stop searching, it’s not over.
“Famous Last Words” by My Chemical Romance
I am not afraid to keep on living
I am not afraid to walk this world alone
Honey if you stay, I’ll be forgiven
Nothing you can say can stop me going home
“The Voice Within” by Christina Aguilera
When there’s no one else, look inside yourself
Like your oldest friend just trust the voice within.
Then you’ll find the strength, that will guide your way.
You’ll learn to begin to trust the voice within

The only song I’ve heard of in that list is Move Along. From looking at the lyrics though, those other songs definitely sound inspiring and comforting.
Maybe I’ll go listen to them.
I’ve only heard of the first two songs, and whenever I listen to them I think of people who are in terrible situations and the lives that are being saved, maybe, partly thanks to the song.
I’ll see if I can get the other two and listen to them ![]()
“Move Along,” and “The Voice Within,” are two songs that I love to just, let go, and belt out when I feel upset. They’re great releases, for sure, even though I certainly can’t hit X-Tina’s notes all the time :/
I don’t think I’ve heard any of those songs before, but they’re all quite nice.
When I think of songs with pick-you-up lyrics, I think of some Japanese ones (as they have depth and extremely positive choruses).
I’ve only heard “Move Along” before, but I’ll be sure to check out the other ones. ![]()
Is it my browser or is it your stylesheet has runaway?
Songs usually have very powerful lyrics. ![]()
really great choices! those lyrics definetly can bring the “fighting spirit” up when the down times come
i really like Good Charlotte - Hold on song… it rocks and have this special meaning..
I’ve listened to all of those songs, but my favorite is “Move Along.” It got me through some tough times and the actual music of the song isn’t that sad. (”Hold On” makes me cry every time! So I try to avoid it when I’m sad).
I really like your choices. “Move Along” is my favorite, though.
I don’t think I’ve heard any of those songs. Obviously I fail at listening to music, haha!
Good songs you picked. Hold on is a good one to keep me going.
“I’d enter, but… I’d suck. :P” Psh whatever. Enter anyway.
No one has entered yet. ![]()
I’ve heard “Move Along” and “Hold On”. Not the other two.
I’m pretty sure I’ve heard all those songs…I agree, good messages.
Music is definitely a great thing!
*hugs Rachaely* Mwah!
Move Along is probably my favorite out of the bunch ![]()
My favourite on your list applying to my current mood is Christian Aguilera’s. It’s a nice song too. But “Hold On” is making me feel worse. XD But I do agree that songs really help a whole lot with getting through sad moments in life. I’m sure everyone experiences low times. Imagine a world without music! ![]()

ps. i’ve tagged you! muah ha ha ha ha.

Good list, Rachael.
I’d like to point out that it’s “Famous Last Words” though.
