Not blogging about not blogging

I always feel guilty when I don’t blog in a few days, and after looking back, it has been a week since I last posted! That definitely makes me feel guilty, though the guilt is lessened by the fact that new people have been commenting. Comments always make me happy.

I always tell people off for blogging about blogging, so I’m not going to mention the fact that I haven’t written a new blog entry in over a week. What I’ll talk about instead is what else I’ve been up to.

Last Saturday I travelled down to London to meet my friend Rob and go sightseeing. It was one of the hottest days of the year, but fortunately we didn’t melt too much.

First stop was Madame Tussaudes where we “met” such famous people as Christina Aguilera (who is far too thin), Richard Branson (who has manboobs), and Samuel L. Jackson (who’s really tall!).

The funniest part about Madame Tussaudes was the fact that people bumped into the waxworks and then apologised! Oh, what British-ness!

We then headed over to the London Eye, but the queue was about 5 hours long so we skipped that, instead settling for a walk along the side of the Thames where we saw a big clock, a protest, a well-endowed dragon, and a telephone box.

We eventually made it to the millennium bridge which wasn’t wobbling! I tried to get arty by holding my camera at an angle, and it was by sheer chance I managed to get this great photo of a seagull.

With plenty of free time due to skipping the London Eye, we went the long way to the Science Museum, ate at Wok in a box on Oxford Street, before finally tubing it over to Hyde Park where we traded Moo cards and took daft photos with the Macro setting on Rob’s camera.

Sunday was spent at the Give It A Name festival where I finally got to see Billy Talent (I’ve been wanting them to tour for years!) for the first time. The headline act was 30 Seconds to Mars, who I really couldn’t care less about seeing!

So that was last weekend. This last week has been spent busying away on projects, all of which should be launching soon. I feel like I haven’t stopped!

Rachael doesn’t lie, it was an awesome and extremely hot day out!

I’ve grown up around London but I’ve never done all the touristy things, I really had my eyes opened to a different way of looking at the city.

We’re so going back to Wok in a Box, I’ve got some uber cravings for Chinese take-away right now!

Next time we’ll make sure to pre-book the London Eye as well :p

Glad you enjoyed yourself, It was great seeing you!

Isn’t it great to be busy? You’re lucky to live so close to a big city, like London. Big cities rock. On the flip side, smaller towns also rock, and you live in one! Lissa and I were discussing that, like, how in a small town, you know EVERYTHING that is going on, which makes events more fun. Here, in Calgary, everything is so spread out, that there could be something going on in the deep south, and you won’t hear about it until afterword. Or if you do hear about it, you have to be willing to take the 2 hour bus ride. :P

I’ve been to Madame Tussaude’s in Victoria, BC! It was a while ago, like in grade 8, so not all the cool new celebs were there, but I saw Hitler and Mussolini which was interesting.

Billy Talent is AWESOME! And Canadian. Which makes them SUPER UBER AWESOME WITH CHEESE SAUCE! I find that Canadians are just born rock stars. Every last one. It’s a miracle, really.

I didn’t bother with GIAN this year, although I went last year, my mate went and said it was pretty awesome. Oh well.

My friends went to Give It A Name this year, except I think they went to the Paramore one. I would’ve gone if I actually liked Paramore (the lead singer has horrible hair, I’m sorry). =P

I’ve never actually been to London before. Never had a chance as it’s hundreds of miles away. xD I think we’re going in July to see the musical ‘Wicked’ but I’m not sure if there’s going to be any sightseeing. (it’s a GCSE Music trip with school people)

Sounds like you had a great time! ^_^

Billy Talent is great, but how can you not care about 30 Seconds to Mars?

(and OMG a phone box!)

I once saw Billy Talent and 30 Seconds to Mars at the same concert. I must say, even though I don’t like either of the two bands very much, BT gives a much better live performance than 30 Seconds to Mars!

*pouts* *sulks* … *is a brat* I’m mightily envious now. I wish I could visit London. There’s so many cool stuff there.

I mean here, there’s the Fortress hill where you can see the whole town, the Botanical Garden and the Art Museum… oh and others too but the art museum is the nicest.

Those pictures are really nice. When you have time, put some descriptions up too. And better names :P

I wish I could just spend a day doing nothing but sight seeing. I wold love that. And no matter how much off a butt Jared Leto is I think he is hot & I have since I was a teenager. That tells everyone my age doesn’t it? Waiting every week for a new episode of My So Called Life. I am so lame.

Thanks for your comment, it was really sweet of you *hugs*

Wowee London. I love London. Have only been there once in my life, even though I live only 2 or 3 hours by train away, but hey ho, I do love it there.
Yes I have to confess I was one of the people who bump into the wax models and apologise. Sorry *blushes*

That picture of the sea gull is very cool (Y)

I’m glad you had a good time,
Loves, XX

Haha I don’t blog about blogging very often either, and when I do, it’s not like I dedicate whole entries to it. :P LMAO!
Madame Tussaudes sounds awesome! LOL I’m one of those people who apologises for bumping into inanimate things too! Even manniquins in shops!

Hi Rachel,

I live in Norfolk. Norwich is no match for London, so my wife took our 6 year-old daughter down to see the tourity stuff in London last Saturday - the same day as you and Rob.

They went early to Tower of London, then to London Eye (though they didn’t actually go on it), the Science Museum. They also went to the H of P and took a picture of the same big clock exactly 15 mins before you did!

Oh yes and my wife, who is from Vancouver Island used to work at the waxworks near the harbour in Victoria BC, where Aisling visited.

Cheers for now,
Richard.
