Upgrading to Wordpress 2.5

I’ve just upgraded to the newest version of Wordpress. It’s all part of my master plan to improve my site. Actually, it’s because I’m trying to keep up to date. I never upgraded to the previous version of Wordpress, and seeing as 2.5 is a big change (at least in the back end) I thought I should do the upgrade now.

Nothing major seems to have broken yet, an I’m optimistic that things will stay that way. The one plugin I was using that doesn’t work is the Livejournal Crossposter. This causes something called a “fatal error” which probably isn’t as scary as it sounds.

One thing I don’t like though is the new admin panel. In fact, right now I’d go so far as to say I’d hate it. Whilst I am open-minded and am normally okay with change, this time I don’t like it. I miss all the Georgia from the old admin panel, and I don’t like all the pale colours in the new one.

However, I have found a solution! With the help of netdestroyer, I have flooded my admin panel. All is well now, so I’m off to bed before I break anything, and hopefully my site will still be in one piece in the morning.

It seems that people are always updating Wordpress, but I guess that’s just because not everyone does it at the exact same time XD

Anyways, things look fine to me, but perhaps you’re done fixing dead things.

Ooh, fishies in the admin panel! Schweet! :P I don’t mind the new panel, but I’m hoping to find a newer, prettier one. It seems to run my blog, in any case, which is all that really matters to me. :P I don’t have LJ cross-post, but I have Xanga, and I think it works. :) My drop-down menu thingy is a lot nicer, I hated the old one. :D So… yeah, so far so good– for me at least!

I like 2.5. And you can use the Fluency theme, can’t remember where it is though. Just Google it. :P Anyway, everything looks nice and, well, the same, so looks like it worked.

I love the new WP. It’s so sleek, but the installation through my FTP was long. It’s far too bloated in my opinion, but I still like it.

I really should upgrade too. It’s been a long time since I last did it, and I’m sure my version’s a bit insecure….*shifty*

YAY for Wordpress!!!

Regarding the colors and whatnot of the new admin panel, I didn’t mind them all too much but I found a sleek theme to try out:

I’m not sure if I like it enough to keep it but it’s fun to play with. :D

Ooh ooh! I found a new way to change the colors in the admin panel! Well I mean, there is a different color scheme to choose from in the “user profile” section. Sort of back to the “basic blues” of the old admin panel, the orange is still there though for some links.

I have yet to find the motivation to upgrade my wordpress. It’s such a chore. As are the plugins which automatically upgrade wordpress. But hell oh mighty, they got rid of georgia? Woe is me! What did they actually change though? What are the benefits of this latest upgrade?
S’good job I only use one plugin because I don’t think that I could take the fury of trying to make them compatible with Wordpress which seems to come up with a new upgrade every five seconds. Peft.
