Free self-esteem giveaway

When I feel down, I turn to my brain and to my friends for a little “pick me up”. I’m fortunate enough to have friends who usually think I’m awesome, even if I don’t always agree. I’m also quite good at making other people feel better when they’re in a bit of a negative mood, and that’s the purpose of this blog entry.
You are more amazing than you think you are.
You are amazing for several reasons (and not just because you’re one of my visitors, though that does automatically make you pretty darn cool). It’s not possible for me to list every single reason why you are awesome, because I don’t know everything about you. I can, however, remind you of some possible reasons of why you might be awesome. Feeling good about yourself has to come from the inside.
If you have your own website / blog / whatever, then you’re definitely doing something you should be proud of. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have a million visitors a day, or if people tell you that you suck. It doesn’t matter if you get involved in e-drama or if people write a negative unrequested review about you. If you have your own website, you’re doing something constructive. Constructivity (or whatever the word is) is good! You could be doing a lot worse. You could be out on the streets causing trouble, but you’re not.
You’re most likely also more intelligent than you think you are. You don’t need to be a super genius like Einstein to be clever. You have talents you probably don’t give yourself enough credit for. If you play a musical instrument, you are the envy of people the world over who wish they could do what you do. If you have a job, there’ll be people jealous of you. Some people find it really hard to find a job, and here you are working.
I also think that you’re a lot stronger on the inside than you give yourself credit for. Life might seem hard, and I’m not going to sit here and preach at you and tell you that people have things way worse than you do. Sure, it’s most likely true (people being executed for their sexuality / dying of starvation / living in poverty, etc.) but that doesn’t automatically invalidate your feelings. I think low self-esteem is a very relative thing. What might hurt you might seem trivial to someone else. However, if it matters enough to you to make you feel down, then it’s definitely important.
If you’re going through a dark time right now, you might think that the light at the end of a tunnel is an oncoming freight train, but I can assure you that it’s not. With time, and patience, things will definitely start to improve. I know it’s easier said than done, but don’t hate yourself. You’re awesome, just like everybody else.

That’s super sweet! Thank You!
That’s so sweet! I wish that was my talent! Thanks!
*cries*
…
Okay, not really.
But, you’re right. Everyone really does have SOMETHING going for them. I found an old diary entry of mine, from when I was 16. It said “As long as I can find ONE PERSON who still gives a damn, I will still give a damn.” I know that I have a person like that, so I will continue on, and not let my negative thoughts get me down. ![]()
I’m a multi-tasker. I run a blog which is constructive, but also manage to find time to go out on the streets and cause trouble
I jest. Lovely entry from a lovely person! ♥
That’s a great message. Everyone needs to hear it when they’re feeling down.
Thanks Rachael.
Wow, this is a really wonderful and sweet entry, and I really needed it today. You have a talent for not making any of this sound saccharine.
Thanks for the pick-me-up.
Heh, ironic really the timing. It’s a very nice thing to say… only thing I’d like to add is that no one has ever made an unrequested review about me/my site/a blog post I wrote. Meh: must try harder.
That’s sweet. You’re right <3
Wow, powerful message Rachael! It’s so true though, with a bit of time and patience, things will always improve. Thanks for the pick me up! ![]()
Ahw, that’s so sweet! You have a talent, you know, not everybody can churn out compliments as cute as that. I think I’ll just direct my friends to this page now, whenever they feel down :p
“You’re most likely also more intelligent than you think you are. You don’t need to be a super genius like Einstein to be clever.”
I took a brain quiz in Facebook today and it told me my brain is the same as a chimps, lol!
Aw, you are so sweet!
And all the things you said are true.
Awww, mwah! ^_^ Well said.
Wow, Rachael! I always feel like I learn a little more about myself when I read your entries, and this one was no exception. You see, I’m at a period of my life where everyday just seems pointless, and I’ve spent this week trying to survive between panic attacks. But I know it’s not going to last forever — thanks for the little reminder =) You’re awesome!
I like this entry, it’s definitely come food for thought. ![]()

This is such a sweet entry. It’s so lovely. ♥ Everyone (okay - almost everyone) is awesome, except everyone has different strengths and weakness and thus, while everyone is awesome - everyone is awesome at different things.
