What to do when your family read your blog

rachaelIt’s one of my three blogging rules that I will never mention anything on my blog that I wouldn’t mind my mother knowing about. This is good, because my mother sometimes reads my blog. Yesterday I received an email through my contact form from my sister, and that was a little strange. I even replied to her by email, and we live in the same house.

I also know that my dad reads my blog. When he told me, I got a bit huffy. If there’s something I want my dad to know, I’ll tell him. He shouldn’t have to need to read my blog to know what’s going on in my life.

However, my dad regularly travels with work which means he’s not at home right now, and I do miss him very much. The biggest thing he’s missed out on while he’s away is my new haircut!

Here you go, Dad, this is my new haircut! I hope you like it. I think you’ll agree it looks a lot better than it did before.

Have a good weekend everyone, whether you’re related to me or not.

*points* Your formatting is wonkifying the page. :P

I told my parents they COULD read my blog, but I would PREFER if they did not. My mom doesn’t. My dad has before. Especially while I was away from home. What I kind of find odd, is that my friends’ parents read my blog! Once again, more so when we were travelling around the country, since I was the only one to blog. Still, it was a little bit of a shock, because all of a sudden I have Gwobert’s dad emailing me, asking me questions and telling me he likes my blog! Then, after Katimavik, I found out that Anny’s mom ALSO read my blog from time to time! It’s a good thing I never wrote anything bad! :D

P.S. You’re adorable, and also I used the word “blog,” a lot in my comment. Like… in every sentence. I need a thesaurus.

Most of my ‘real life’ friends know about and read my blog because I have told them about it and often link things to them :p. My parents also know about it because I’ve shown them. I never really saw the point in people trying to “hide” their blogs from certain people; if you’re putting stuff on the internet you can’t really complain when people you don’t want to read things do. That’s what password protected entries are for. :p

I try my best to hide my blogs hehehe. Because last time my teacher discovered my blog :O And he loudly announced it in class >< That’s why I moved to QY.net lol

Oh.. you look totally cute in that picture. As if you were caught unawares… though I’m assuming it’s not the case. You having shot the picture yourself ;)

Anyway, I don’t much worry about my parents reading my blog. My dad doesn’t speak English, and my mom is not fluent enough to manage to untangle my skewered phrases… heck she has trouble doing that when I speak Romanian :P

No one I know in real life knows about my blog, I think. Heh. I try to refrain from writing anything that would be too compromising if anyone from my offline life read it. Then again, maybe I haven’t been careful enough lately.

Your new haircut is very cute, and I hope your dad sees it. It would be interesting if he commented here :D

I’m not afraid of what I write. Some things I have posted in the past may create tense situations with more tetchy people but my family are pretty used to me being excessively rude and sarcastic ;) Not that my family visit my blog often… I think?

Your hair looks wicked too! I know I’ve already seen it and told you about it, but it really suits you.

My parents don’t care enough to read my blog. But they’d probably read it if I didn’t call them every second day to let them know about everything that has pissed me off.

I actually CALLED them about my last blog post and Dad was like ‘Metalcore? Sounds emo.’

Lol. I love my dad.

Anyway, I’m babbling. Love the haircut. I wish my hair wasn’t so crazy and would sit properly with a haircut like that.

Frankly, I don’t want my parents to read my blog. I’m not talking against them, but I have always kept a lot hidden from them. Perhaps it’s not always a good thing, but I know they are very conservative and would be shocked at many of the things I can say. I don’t want to censor myself.

I got a little freaked out when my aunt found my blog a few months ago. It felt a little weird, but I’ve gotten used to it.

Nice haircut. :D I want to trim my bangs now. :D

Ooh, cute haircut! :) I don’t think I could ever pull off that type of hairstyle.

I don’t think my parents know that I have a blog. My sisters do, but they don’t read it. At least… I don’t think they do.

Cute haircut! Loving the bangs =)

Anyhow…

I don’t think my offline friends know about my blog… hell, not a lot of people online know about it either! But you never know. I don’t have to worry about my parents at all, since neither of them get online.

As for the content of my entries per se, I try not to mention any names or to write about actual events; I usually just produce general ramblings about thoughts and life. I’ve been careless on a couple of occasions though… so oops? Heh.

Sometimes I wish I blogged under a pseudonym, just for additional safety =P

Very nice hair style, suits you very well :).

As for my family reading my blog, well, they all know about my websites. Friend-wise I haven’t found it necessary to tell anyone because it’s easy to find and non of them are even have interest in that kind of stuff.

You have a nice weekend too.

Your new haircut is absolutely wonderful! I love it! :)

My parents are strangers to technology. My mother barely knows how to turn on the computer and my dad…well the most technology he uses is a calculator. So I’m pretty sure they’ll never find my blog. On the off chance they do (which is like a one in a million), I don’t care. It’s not like they’ll find out anything new!

I like your haircut ^^;

My parents read my blog too. I ask them not to but they do anyway, so I have to be careful what I write.

Adorable hair Rachael! I’m loving it actually. :)

My mom, dad, sister, and husband all know I have a website and blog and stuff. Only my sister and husband ever look at it. Several years ago, I had a blog on Blogger and my grandpa found it. How embarrassed I was. There was a lot of mushy stuff on there. Since then, I try to hide myself a little from real life people.

My parents used to know about my blog, but since I moved it to another subdomain I don’t think they read it anymore.
Two of my good friends read it now though, since they have blogs of their own and leave me comments, lol!

Aww, cute hair cut! I have a friend who wants to take a leap and chop some of her hair off, too (:

Ha, it’d be difficult to hide my blog from my Mom, seeing as she’s the one who was kind enough to help me pay for it! Not many people from my school know, though.

Aww, cute haircut :)

Well, my parents don’t know what a blog is, nor do they understand English, so they don’t read my blog. I’m pretty sure some of my offline friends read it, as well as at least one of my sisters, but I’m not too bothered about it.

Issa said:

I read your blog! lol.

So I got stuck at the registers today, and everytime someone bought a notebook, I wondered if you would like it or not. It made the time pass by a little faster. I’ll see you online Thursday!

My sisters read my blog once in a while… but only to dig up dirt on themselves lol. I frankly don’t give a sh*t if any of my family reads my blog… I’ve more or less disowned them, anyway.
