Overwhelmed

Do you ever have times where you feel completely and utterly overwhelmed by everything? I’m having a time like that right now. I’m stressed, I’m frustrated, and I can’t seem to concentrate on anything.

I worry about the things I shouldn’t care about, and I don’t care about the things I should worry about. It’s ridiculous. I don’t like it when I don’t feel in control of things, and right now I don’t feel like I’m in control of anything. Everything feels on top of me, and I don’t like that feeling. I don’t like it at all.

I can’t concentrate and feel like I’m just wasting my time on complete rubbish, when I just be focussing and doing things that need to be done. If concentration is the globe, my concentration level is about the size of the Bishop Rock.

My hormones are all over the place for some bizarre reason (and no, there’s absolutely no chance of me being pregnant). I’m feeling a lot more violent than I’m used to, and I don’t like that feeling either. I was playing Wii yesterday and was boxing. I was so violent and energetic that out of the three computer opponents I played, I knocked two of them out in the first round.

“Flight or fight” is a regular occurence in humans, but right now I don’t know if I want to curl up in my bed and cry my heart out, or bash someone’s face in.

Aw man. I want a Wii just for the stress relief! I probably wouldn’t be able to play it for long, but it sounds like a good thing to have.

But, yes, I know exactly how you’re feeling at the moment. *hugs*

I know exactly how your feeling, I’ve been like that for about the last 3 months. I just become snappy and bitchy rather than violent though. Good work on the boxing though. The computer opponents deserved it. They were looking at you funny. Hope you feel better mate. Just start by getting in control of something simple. Thats what I find starts to make things easier.

I know the feeling. For the past two weeks I have been overwhelmed by some personal issues that have been going on. I’m still working through them step by step. Sometimes you just need to breathe. And play video games! Personally, video games are a great way for me to reduce stress.

Wii boxing is a great way to let things out. Just make sure you don’t let it all build up inside!

Rachael, is there anything I can do? Just let me know. If you want just email it and let it all out. *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug* *big squishy hug*

Don’t worry about figuring out what is wrong with Amarantine in IE (I know you weren’t worrying about it) I figured it out. I forgot a *>*.

Lately I’ve been feeling like I’m not going anywhere; on some levels, I don’t care, because I’m happy where I am, but on others, I’d really like to see them grow and develop. It’s pathetic how much I find myself in tears.

I’ve recently re-discovered video games as a stress-reducing activity (since my boyfriend BROKE THE WII I haven’t played much of anything, but now I have my own PSP to keep me company)… Though I’ll always use reading as the best way to escape life stresses.

The important thing is just to find what makes you calm down, then once you’ve finished that activity & relaxed your nerves, try to assess the issue(s) from that perspective.

It’s catching I tell you. ;-)
But since you admitted to finding me awesome you shouldn’t worry. Sometimes a bit of adrenaline does us good.

Thus proving that the Nintendo Wii is the best form of stress relief since Furbies (good punching bags). I hope you feel a little better soon, it’s not nice to feel so down one minute and up again the next.

Perhaps it’s just a small phase - I’m sure most people get like it every so often, I know I do. Just focus on the positives and do a little self healing. Treat yourself to something nice :)

You know, I kind of have the same feeling. I blame it on the winter season, freezing temperatures and the lack of any decent hot chocolate around. However, I also know that feeling like this sucks. Like you cannot accomplish anything, you’re slower than usual yet at the same time all stressed out. Unfortunately I don’t have a Wii which I can use to release my stress, so I’m still stuck to using stuffed animals as punchballs. Oh well :)

Aww, don’t worry.

I’ve been going through this for some time now, and the only word that can express how I feel is overwhelmed too.

Who knows, boxing may be your stress relief!
Do you feel good after boxing? x)
Today I went out to the beach and just sat there with my close friends enjoying the breeze. It feels really good, trust me.

I know exactly what you mean when you say you worry/care about things you shouldn’t and dont worry/care about the things you should. I often find myself just sitting there, looking uninterested when my friends discuss things that I really should care about..I have tried to become interested and care but it never lasts.

Definitely. I’ll be moving out on my own soon, and that’s been taking a toll on me. Especially because the date is getting nearer and nearer every day.

I have learned that while none of us go through the same experiences, we can all recognize the feeling. Overwhelming is something that I personally can relate to.

Several years ago I went through a time that just about did me in - overwhelmed was an understatement. Looking back, though, that was the beginning of a real journey. I realized that advice was definitely not the answer - no one understood what I felt, so how could they give me answers? So I decided I had to learn about our emotions.

Anyway, our emotions are the only thing we can really control in our lives — I find over and over again that I can’t control circumstances - only how I feel about them!

In fact, I have felt so strongly about learning to understand our emotions that we (my husband and I) have started a blog on our website just to talk about that!

I really enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for sharing - and hopefully knowing others feel the same way at times helps.
