Glogster

In the age of Web 2.0, web apps are sprouting up like weeds. Some of them are very similar to weeds in fact. But every once in a while, a new app will come along sporting its shiny “beta” badge, and just completely blow the others out of the water. For me, Glogster is that app.

Even though it has a really bizarre name (which sounds silly), Glogster is really fun. The homepage doesn’t really tell you much about what Glogster is; it prefers to let you learn by example. A “glog” is in essence a poster. It can contain anything you like - pictures, videos, text. There are some truly stunning Glogs out there, and you can see my favourites here.

Glogs are being made about any and every topic you can think of. Friends, family, politics, music, love - when making a Glog, you’re only limited by your imagination.

My only concern with Glogster is that it ends up like Fotolog, which is saturated with crazy emo teenagers.

Do any of you use glogster? What do you think to the idea?

The homepage looks way too “busy” but the things on it are pretty cool :)

It seems like an interesting application, but very time consuming. It has the potential to be very rad, but also of going the other way around. And I have to say: I am having so much fun pronouncing and re-pronouncing Glogster.

That favourite you have, with the “Logos of the Internet” is très sexy. I couldn’t take my eyes off for the longest time!

Snark is quite enough for me. Besides, after I heard so many horror stories about MySpace I’m quite happy to avoid them for the rest of my life.

Doesn’t look too interesting to me.
