Well, there goes that lampshade…

Yes, I got a Wii for Christmas. Thank you very much, Santa! I have Wii Sports, Mario Olympics, and The Golden Compass games, although I’m after recommendations for games to buy. What would you suggest?
I was playing Tennis on Wii sports this morning, and I was really getting into it. It was like I was actually at Wimbledon. Well, it was until it started raining bits of lampshade. For little did I know, but I’d destroyed half the lampshade in the overhead light while I lifted my hand to smash the ball back at the opponent. To add insult to injury, I didn’t even win the game.
Whoops!

It would seem that Tennis is the most dangerous game… I wonder why that is.
I’d thoroughly recommend Super Mario Galaxy. I’ll admit to be being rather addicted by it.
Aw the poor lampshade! You really need to be more careful!
This is why tennis should be played outside, properly, on a pretty grey court, with little white skirts, and pretty visors! At least, that’s my favourite way. It’s all about the fashion, and not about the fact that I accidentally nailed my opponent in the face, that way. ![]()
Guitar Hero 3 is fun if you’re into that kind of game. And if you like Mario games, I definitely recommend Super Mario Galaxy. ![]()
My little sisters got a wii this christmas, but I’ve been putting all of my efforts into blocking out all of that gaming type thing as they get quiet violent and noisy with each other.
The only game I’ve ever liked was Theme park world on PS1. Back in the day, ey? ^^
Yay to you for getting the Wii.
I second (third?) Super Mario Galaxy :D. Paper Mario’s not bad either :). Cooking Mama is also cool but be warned about the American food, it might look easy to cook…but it’s not.
I don’t know if it’s just me but I’d avoid Wario Ware…or whatever it’s called - it’s too repetitive. That’s just one opinion though, you might want other reviews.
Not game related but the rechargeable battery pack would be a good buy, especially if you play on the Wii for long hours.
Please make sure there are no objects within arm-swing distance!
But did you know? Unless you’re aiming for a target, your swings can be as small or large as you like, as long as it’s within sensor range.
Bowling is my favourite. Well, other than when I play it with my auntie, who gets strikes and spares without fail. It’s quite annoying in the end!
Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda, Zelda… To be specific Twilight Princess. I’m a total fangirl! *squees*
Boxing is my favourite from all the Wii Sports, and Baseball is pretty neat too. I find Tennis very default, and I’ve never really had any mishaps either. But my sister did fling the remote while really getting into Baseball. I don’t have many recommendations for games; I can try whatever, whenever. But Mario is very good, each and every one.
I want a Wii, so I can experience all this lampshade breaking myself ![]()
It’s gotta be Zelda Twilight Princess. And Guitar Hero III. And it sounds silly, but I quite like the look of Ratatoullie or however it’s spelt hahaha.
Lucky you anyway, I’ve been looking everywhere for a damn Wii! I love Wii Sports, simply for the fact that I kick everyone’s arses.
Gaaaaahhh I really want I wii. It’s been over a year and I still didn’t get one. Zelda and Rayman are good games for the wii.
I tried talking my husband into a Wii but he wouldn’t have it so he got an Xbox 360 instead ![]()
dude, wiis are dangerous. i’ve read multiple articles about people who smashed their hands through windows while trying to swing the wii control around. scary stuff, eh? ![]()
I love my Wii. I have a ton of games but I’m itching to get more, lol. Here is a list of the games that I have:
Wii Sports
Wii Play
Super Paper Mario
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
Guitar Hero 3
Crash of the Titans
Resident Evil 4
MySims
Mario Party 8
I am hoping to get the Super Mario Galaxy pretty soon.
When I had a Wii, before my boyfriend broke it, I enjoyed games such as WiiPlay, Bomberman, and Excite Truck.
I’ve never hit anything while playing with my Wii. In the instructions for WiiSports, it says something along the lines of, “When bowling, do not actually release your grip on the Wiimote.” I found this hilarious, but I guess it really does happen.
Ahaha, that’s why you always make sure you’re in a safe place to play with it. I love the Wii. Yeah, the graphics aren’t as nice as the PS3 and it doesn’t have the excellent game selection of Xbox 360, but when it comes down to overall amusement, it’s the best.
I also move that you buy Twilight Princess. It’s the only game, apart from Wii Sports and Wii Play, that I have for my Wii. It is just amazing.
Additionally, I second (or third, or fourth) the motion that Wii Tennis is dangerous. We’ve all nursed our share of Wiinjuries in my family!
I’ve totally done that!
So glad that I’m not the only one… ![]()

It’s hilarious when people really get into the Wii. Once my dad was playing tennis and he hit the TV! (The TV was okay.)
